The short version
This website is a set of pages that describe our work. It runs no accounts, takes no payments, and carries no advertising trackers. The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us when you get in touch.
Ask us to delete what we hold about you at any time and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
What we collect
- What you send us. Your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you tell us about your idea, your audience, or your existing product.
- What follows from working together. If an engagement begins, the working correspondence, documents, and billing details that engagement needs.
- Standard technical records. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, which can include an approximate location, a browser type, and the pages requested. These keep the site running and secure.
What we do not collect
We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or rent anyone’s data. Typefaces are served from our own domain, so reading this site does not report you to a font provider.
The inquiry form prepares a message inside your own email client. Nothing you type reaches us until you send that email yourself. See the Cookie Policy for what this means for cookies.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and work out honestly whether we are a fit.
- To scope, deliver, and invoice an engagement once it begins.
- To keep the website secure, available, and understandable.
- To meet our tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
Our basis for holding it
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, ours is one of these: your consent, given by choosing to write to us; the performance of a contract, where we are delivering agreed work; our legitimate interest in running a small studio and keeping its site secure; or a legal obligation, such as keeping financial records.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will stop.
Who else sees it
We share your information only with the services that let us operate, and only as far as each needs it to do its job. That means our website host, our email provider, and, if we are working together, the accounting and document tools an engagement requires.
We may disclose information where the law compels us to. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Where it is held
Our providers operate internationally, so your information may be stored or processed outside your own country, including in the United States. We choose providers that commit to recognised safeguards for those transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Records from an engagement are kept for as long as the work needs and for the period our tax and accounting obligations require.
You can ask us to delete your details earlier, and we will unless we are legally required to hold them.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email us and we will act on it, normally within a month.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, or the CCPA, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would rather you came to us first, but that route is yours.
Children
This site is aimed at people running or starting a business and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
As the studio changes, this policy will too. The current version always lives at this address with its date shown above. If a change materially affects people we are already working with, we will tell them directly rather than leave it to a quiet edit.
